Jumper/ Sense-wire
by cablester on May 31, 2025

The jumped-wire is actually the sense wire, with its function to ‘sense’ voltage drop so the PSU can increase the voltage being supplied.

There are some options to handle with the sense wire, either by making a Y-Split, jumper on PSU end, or double wire crimped on device-end similar to the stock cable, or leaving them altogether.

There are different opinions to the different methods. Some actual tests, interestingly, shows that leaving sense-wire altogether has no impact to the power delivery or voltage stability.

We choose jumped-wire method as it gives cleaner look, without compromising the function and stability.
